Chronic Shoulder Pain Has Met Its Match: SoftWave

Reaching overhead, sleeping on your side, lifting a bag, or just getting dressed. Shoulder pain makes all of it harder than it should be. SoftWave TRT penetrates deep into the damaged tissue driving that limitation and triggers the repair process that puts you back in control.

Your Shoulder Is Very Mobile.
That Mobility Comes with Cost.

Because the shoulder sacrifices stability for range of motion, it’s uniquely vulnerable to injury, degeneration, and chronic pain. The problem you’re feeling on the surface often has roots in tissue damage that goes much deeper. Here’s what Dr. Sandy most commonly sees at Key to Health.

Rotator Cuff Tears and Tendinitis

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and their tendons that hold the shoulder joint together. Partial tears, full tears, and chronic tendinitis are among the most common causes of persistent shoulder pain and weakness, particularly when lifting or reaching.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)

When the connective tissue surrounding the shoulder joint thickens and tightens, range of motion becomes severely restricted. Frozen shoulder develops gradually and can take months or years to resolve without targeted treatment.

Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

Impingement occurs when the rotator cuff tendons get pinched between the bones of the shoulder during arm movement. The result is sharp pain with overhead activity and a deep aching sensation at rest that makes sleep difficult.

Bicep Tendon Problems

The tendon connecting the bicep muscle to the shoulder can become inflamed, partially torn, or fully ruptured. Bicep tendinitis causes pain at the front of the shoulder that worsens with lifting and twisting motions.

AC Joint Arthritis

The acromioclavicular joint where the collarbone meets the shoulder blade is a common site of arthritis and injury. AC joint pain is typically felt at the top of the shoulder and can significantly limit pressing and reaching movements.

Post-Surgical Scar Tissue

Patients who have had prior shoulder procedures often develop scar tissue that restricts movement and creates chronic pain long after the surgical site has healed. This type of restriction is particularly resistant to conventional treatment.

Shoulders Don't Heal Easily. Here's Why Your Treatment Hasn't Worked.

The shoulder has notoriously poor blood supply to key structures like tendons and the rotator cuff. That’s what makes shoulder injuries so slow to heal and why standard treatments so often fall short:

Medication

Pain relievers and anti-inflammatories reduce the sensation of pain without doing anything to repair the torn or degenerated tissue causing it. When the medication clears your system, the structural problem is exactly where you left it.

Cortisone Injections
A cortisone injection into the shoulder bursa or joint can quiet inflammation for weeks or months, but the effect is temporary and diminishes with each use. There’s also growing evidence that repeated injections can weaken tendon tissue and accelerate the degeneration they’re meant to address.

Physical Therapy
Shoulder PT is often valuable for restoring range of motion and strengthening the supporting musculature. But when the underlying problem is a partial rotator cuff tear, chronic tendinitis, or frozen shoulder capsule, exercise alone isn’t enough to drive the tissue repair needed for lasting relief.

Surgery
Rotator cuff repairs and other shoulder procedures can be effective but they come with lengthy post-operative rehabilitation, significant pain, and recovery timelines measured in months. Many patients find that surgical results plateau before full function is restored.

Frequently Asked Questions About SoftWave Therapy

Everything you want to know about SoftWave therapy before you come in.

For partial rotator cuff tears, SoftWave has shown strong results in reducing pain and stimulating tissue repair. Full thickness tears that have caused significant structural loss may still require surgical intervention, but many patients with partial tears find meaningful and lasting relief through SoftWave. Dr. Sandy will give you an honest assessment based on your specific situation.

Frozen shoulder is driven by thickened, inflamed connective tissue around the joint capsule. SoftWave reduces that inflammation, breaks down adhesions contributing to the restriction, and stimulates healing in the capsule tissue. Many patients see meaningful improvements in range of motion that PT alone couldn’t produce.
Yes. Impingement is largely driven by inflammation and tendon irritation in a confined space. SoftWave directly reduces that inflammation and promotes healing in the rotator cuff tendons, which takes the pressure off the structures getting pinched during movement.
Post-surgical shoulder pain and the scar tissue that often accompanies it are both areas where SoftWave has demonstrated results. Bring your surgical history to your consultation and Dr. Sandy will assess whether SoftWave makes sense for your specific situation.

Most patients describe the sensation as a gentle rhythmic pulsing on the surface of the skin. Even in sensitive shoulder areas, the treatment is well tolerated and requires no numbing or anesthesia of any kind.
