SoftWave Therapy for Pain Relief | Key to Health Chiropractic | Poconos, PA

Chronic Pain Comes in Many Forms.
SoftWave Treats Most of Them.

SoftWave TRT has demonstrated effectiveness across a wide range of musculoskeletal and chronic pain conditions, from common issues like back pain, knee pain, and plantar fasciitis to more stubborn problems like non-unions, Morton’s neuroma, and chronic scar tissue. Whether you’ve been dealing with a specific injury, years of wear and tear, or a condition you’ve been told you just have to live with, there’s a real chance SoftWave can help.

Conditions We Treat
With Dedicated SoftWave Programs

Each of the following conditions has its own page with detailed information about how SoftWave addresses it specifically. Click through to learn more about your condition and what treatment at Key to Health looks like.

Neck Pain

Chronic neck pain, stiffness, and tension are among the most common complaints Dr. Sandy sees. Whether it stems from a herniated disc, muscle strain, postural issues, or years of accumulated wear, SoftWave targets the damaged tissue at the source. Fascial tightness and trigger points in the neck and upper back often contribute to the problem, and SoftWave addresses those too. If you’ve been living with a stiff or aching neck and haven’t found lasting relief, this is worth exploring.

Back Pain

Back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide and one of the conditions SoftWave was built for. From lower lumbar aches to chronic disc pain, sciatica, stress fractures in the vertebrae, and non-union injuries that haven’t healed properly, SoftWave’s acoustic waves reach deep into the affected tissue to stimulate repair where other treatments fall short. No injections, no surgery, no guesswork.

Hip Pain

Hip pain from arthritis, bursitis, labral tears, overuse injuries, or general joint degeneration can make everyday movement feel impossible. Hamstring pain and IT band tightness frequently originate in the hip and contribute to the overall dysfunction. SoftWave helps reduce inflammation and stimulate the body’s repair response in the hip joint and surrounding tissue, restoring mobility without invasive procedures.

Shoulder Pain

Rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, frozen shoulder, and impingement syndrome are all conditions where SoftWave has shown strong results. Scar tissue from old injuries or prior surgeries often plays a role in chronic shoulder pain, restricting movement and perpetuating inflammation. SoftWave breaks that cycle by driving healing resources directly into the tissue that needs it most, without needles or downtime.

Foot & Ankle Pain

Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, chronic ankle instability, heel spurs, hallux rigidus, Morton’s neuroma, and foot ulcers all respond particularly well to SoftWave therapy. These conditions are notoriously stubborn because of the limited circulation in the foot and ankle. SoftWave accelerates that healing process significantly by stimulating blood flow and cellular repair in areas the body struggles to reach on its own.

Knee Pain

Knee pain from osteoarthritis, meniscus issues, patellar tendinitis, Osgood-Schlatter disease, jumper’s knee, and post-injury damage is one of the most common reasons patients come to Key to Health. SoftWave offers a real alternative to cortisone injections and knee replacement surgery for patients who aren’t ready to go that route or who haven’t found lasting relief from those approaches.

Sports Injuries

SoftWave is used by professional athletes and sports medicine providers across the country for a reason. Shin splints, hamstring tears, stress fractures, overuse injuries, elbow pain from repetitive strain, and fascial restrictions all respond well to acoustic wave therapy. It accelerates tissue repair, reduces recovery time, and gets athletes back to full function faster than traditional treatment approaches, whether you’re a weekend warrior or a competitive athlete.

Frequently Asked Questions About SoftWave Therapy

Everything you want to know about SoftWave therapy before you come in.

Yes. Many patients come in with pain in multiple areas, and Dr. Sandy can address more than one condition over the course of a treatment plan. During your consultation she’ll prioritize based on what’s causing you the most trouble and build a plan from there.
Dr. Sandy applies the SoftWave device directly to the area of concern. The acoustic waves penetrate into the tissue beneath the surface, so precise placement is important. That’s why having a trained and certified provider administer the treatment matters.
Not necessarily. SoftWave has shown results for chronic conditions that have been present for years or even decades. Longer-standing conditions may require more sessions, but duration alone doesn’t disqualify someone from benefiting from treatment.
In many cases yes. Post-surgical pain, residual inflammation, and scar tissue from procedures are all areas where SoftWave has demonstrated meaningful results. Bring your surgical history to your consultation and Dr. Sandy will give you an honest assessment.
Yes. Tendon and soft tissue conditions like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, rotator cuff injuries, and knee tendinitis tend to respond particularly well.
